Job Description

DYAD is an upcoming indie action/adventure 2D animated musical series. The story follows twins Mo and Bruce Riggs, two of the last living descendants of a man named Percy Royce who had inherited the most powerful form of magic known to their planet and passed it down through the generations. The family, once known for their heroic deeds and for vanquishing their kingdom’s greatest foe, Delanath, to an isolated prison, the family has fallen from grace following Mo and Bruce’s mom having fallen in love with a mortal man as opposed to a mage, and their elder brother, Jack’s, betrayal of the kingdom following their parents’ death. The twins seek to restore their family’s name to what it once was, but this will be no simple task, between having to lead a double life on Avovalyn and Earth, learning to master their powers, and keeping their rambunctious little sister, Selena, in line…all while Delanath’s plan to bring a prophecy, which–if fulfilled–would ensure his freedom, is coming closer and closer to fruition.

About the Position:

Animators are currently being hired on to help with work on our miniseries, “DYAD Shorts,” which are short-form minisodes that hint at main plot points of the main series. DYAD Shorts will consist of 6 minisodes, which production is expected to last for from March 2025-(appr.) July 2026. Ideal candidates would be available between 5-10 hours a week at least. Animators will take our boards and translate them into moving pictures consistent with the animation style we are looking for. Animation styles are similar to styles seen in series such as  Randy Cunningham: Ninth Grade Ninja,  The Owl House , American Dragon: Jake Long, and  Star Vs. The Forces of Evil . Candidates should be comfortable working with the DYAD art style and creating smooth animations, as well as collaborating with a team and working under deadlines.

Recruiting for all animation positions, including roughs, clean up/color, FX animation, and compositing! OUR LARGEST NEEDS ARE IN CLEAN UP and FX!

Requirements: 

• Must be 18+
• ABSOLUTELY NO AI
• Must have a Discord account in order to be a part of the production hub
• Proficiency in fantasy artwork and able to adapt to DYAD series’ art style
• Have access to a software such as ClipStudio, TV Paint, Adobe Photoshop, etc
• Comfortable with being assigned a deadline and adhering to it
• Must be able to accept payments through either PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle
• Must agree to our base rates
• Comfortable signing an NDA

Useful Experience:

• Experience in 2D Animation  specifically. Reels containing only 3D samples will not be considered.
• Having experience working with a team on an animation before (does not have to be studio experience, could be working on a thesis film in college or an indie project!). This is not required, but it is useful since working with other animators will be a part of this position!

Pay Rates: 

All prices listed here are BASE prices. Price can increase depending on the number of characters and complexity any given animation would require.

• 20 + USD per second (simple animations; IE, characters sitting down and talking, simple walk)
• 30 + USD per second (intermediate animations; IE, more advanced movements)
• 35 + USD per second (complex animations; IE, battle animations, dancing, complicated FX, etc)
